Accessibility statement
Family Travel Toolkit is committed to making this website accessible to as many people as possible, including those using assistive technologies. This statement explains our current conformance level, known limitations, and how to get help.

Conformance aim
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA across all pages of this website. This means we work to ensure content is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for users with a wide range of disabilities.
We are a small, independently run site. We do not have a formal accessibility audit in place but we actively test with keyboard navigation and screen reader tools, and we address reported issues promptly.
What we do to support accessibility
- Semantic HTML with appropriate heading hierarchy on every page
- Keyboard navigation supported throughout — all interactive elements are reachable and operable without a mouse
- ARIA labels on interactive components including the trip planner, packing checklist toggles, and navigation
- Sufficient colour contrast ratios for text and interactive elements
- Alt text on all informational images; decorative images marked with empty alt attributes
- Form inputs associated with visible labels
- Focus indicators visible on all interactive elements
- Responsive design that works at 200% browser zoom without horizontal scrolling
Known limitations
We are aware of the following limitations and are working to address them:
- •The multi-step trip planner uses complex interactive components that may not be fully optimised for all screen reader software. We are actively improving this.
- •Some third-party booking links open in new tabs — these are labelled with aria-label attributes but the experience may vary across assistive technologies.
- •PDF content (if any) may not be fully accessible. We aim to provide HTML alternatives where possible.
