Hi, I'm Mo
Parent, planner, and the person behind Family Travel Toolkit. I built this because I couldn't find a planning tool that actually understood what travelling with kids is like.
Why I built this
Before kids, planning a holiday was simple. Pick a destination, book flights, sort accommodation, done. Then we had children and everything changed. Suddenly I needed to know which resorts had shallow beaches, which airports had decent family facilities, how long a toddler could realistically manage on a city walk, and whether the car hire company would actually have a car seat that fit.
I spent hours piecing together information from forums, travel blogs, and review sites — none of which were designed for parents trying to plan a real family trip. So I built the tool I wished existed.
Family Travel Toolkit is designed to cut through the noise and give you a practical, personalised starting point — built around your family, not a generic template.
Trips I've actually taken
The advice on this site comes from real trips, not research alone. Here are some of the family holidays that shaped what I built:
South resorts with a toddler — car hire, beach days, and the Teide cable car
Road trip along the Turquoise Coast with two kids under 5
City break with a buggy — Gothic Quarter, Park Güell, and the beach
Winter sun escape — volcanoes, quiet beaches, and self-catering
Highlands and islands with school-age kids — castles, lochs, and midges
Long weekend with a 7-year-old — Eiffel Tower, Versailles, and the Metro
My editorial role
I write, edit, and fact-check all the content on this site. Where I use AI tools to help structure or draft content, I review and verify everything before it goes live. I don't publish AI-generated destination advice as if it were first-hand experience.
I'm also the person who reads the correction reports and updates guides when information changes. If something on this site is wrong, I want to know.
See our Editorial Policy for full details of how content is researched and maintained.
